Bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of the Philippines

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of the Philippines were established on March 27, 1992. In the Republic of Indonesia, it is also accredited in the Philippines.
On April 3-5, 2023, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov visited the Republic of the Philippines.
Within the framework of the visit, on April 3, Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov met with the Secretary (Minister) of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines Enrique Manalo. At the meeting, the current situation and development prospects of bilateral relations were discussed, and the importance of joint efforts to achieve practical results in this direction was emphasized.
On April 4, political consultations were held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines for the first time. The political consultations were led by Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, and the Philippines' Deputy Foreign Minister Mrs. Tereza Lazaro.
During the consultations, the current state of bilateral relations, as well as issues of expanding mutual partnership in economic, tourism, energy, agriculture, culture and education fields were discussed.
At the end of the consultations, the signing ceremony of the first intergovernmental document "Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of culture between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Commission for Culture and Arts of the Republic of the Philippines" was held.
Also, during his visit to Manila, E. Mammadov gave an interview to "Manila Times" Information Agency.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines (for multilateral cooperation) Carlos Sorreta participated in the Ministerial Meeting of the Coordination Office of the Non-Aligned Movement held in Baku on July 5-6, 2023.
