On 11 May 2023, the Government of West Kalimantan, Indonesia, the Indonesian Youth Council, and the Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (IFC) organized a special session on "Youth mine countermeasures" as part of the "Borneo Youth Camp" on the Indonesian island of Borneo.

International experts and young activists from the ASEAN region participated in the session.
Jalal Mirzayev, who spoke as the main speaker at the meeting, talked about Azerbaijan's efforts to achieve a mine-free world, the international humanitarian demining conference to be held in Baku and Aghdam in May 2023, assistance to landmine victims, Armenia's responsibility for the placement of landmines in Azerbaijan, the return of internally displaced persons to our lands freed from occupation. and sustainable development, as well as the need for international support, gave detailed information to the participants of the event.

At the end of the special session, an international youth platform for the protection of the rights of landmine victims was established. Also, as a result of the work of the session, the statement entitled "Youth's fight against landmines" was unanimously adopted, based on the principles of peace and security, and the main task of the newly established platform was to raise the issue of protecting the rights of landmine victims in international and regional organizations. At the same time, provision of legal assistance to the victimized civilian population, implementation of appropriate educational programs for the purpose of raising awareness in the field of landmines will also form the directions of activity of the international platform. In the statement, the organization of the platform by the autumn of this year was set as a goal.
