Bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste

Diplomatic relations were established between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste on 05.04.2004. The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Indonesia is also accredited in Timor-Leste.

Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta's visit to Azerbaijan on 07.03.2023 in connection with his participation in the X Global Baku Forum held on 09-11.03.2023 under the theme "The World Today: Challenges and Hopes" organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center has done On 07.03.2023, he met with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. During the meeting, a number of issues of mutual interest between the two countries were discussed.

Leoneto Spinhola Ley de Araujo Mantilo, head of the General Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Timor-Leste (deputy minister level), took part in the Ministerial Meeting of the Coordination Office of the Non-Aligned Movement held in Baku on July 5-6, 2023.
